Christ Church First School is situated in close proximity to Stone town centre and we have a wonderful Victorian building. There are 5 classes from Reception through to Year 4. We are part of The Key Educational Trust which means we work in partnership with Oulton First School and Christ Church Academy. As we are part of the 3 tier system, children leave us at the end of Year 4 when they move on to middle school.
The school has strong links with the local church and staff endeavour to promote Christian values in everything they do. The school motto “Be the best you can be in God’s beautiful world” underpins our desire to give very child the best possible start to their educational journey, both academically as well as socially and emotionally.
Christ is at the beginning of our school name and He is at the centre of our school life. We are a loving, supportive school where everyone is treated with respect as part of God’s family. We aim high and try to be uniquely the best that we can be. We are ready to learn with a positive attitude, keeping one another safe and are respectful of each other, our school and local community. All that we do and all that we are is underpinned by our Christian values of koinonia, hope, generosity, friendship, perseverance, forgiveness and love.
We have a close-knit school community and we look on our school as one big family. We care about each and every pupil. Wellbeing is high on our agenda and we do whatever we can to support children and ensure they are happy in their work. To this end, we have recently added a school therapy dog to the team to support pupils in need. Staff have high expectations for all children whether that be in their work and behaviour. We are ambitious and are constantly looking for ways to improve our offer to the children of Stone (and further afieldl!) and we are proud of our school.
Visits to the school are welcomed at any time as we realise that choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decision you will make as parents. We offer an Open morning in October and further opportunities to see the school in action. These will be advertised at regular intervals throughout the school year.
